An Earlier Time

In 1967, I was assigned to the 333rd Technical Training Squadron at Keesler AFB, MS where I instructed in the Air Traffic Control  Course from 1967 to 1971.  In 1971, I cross-trained into the Inertial and Doppler Radar Repairman 328X4 career field. You see. Good things come to those who are patient.

My next assignment was to George AFB, CA in the High Majove Desert. I maintained the Inertial Navigation Systems on F4's. I enjoyed this assignment tremendously.

Next, I was assigned to the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing,Ubon Thailand,  where again, I maintained F4D's, and F4E's. During this assignment, I had the priviledge of going through "Line Backer I" and "Line Backer II" operations.

I returned to Keesler AFB in 1973. During this tour, I instructed basic electronics in Allee Hall. Here I made Master Sergeant, and in 1977, was again given a remote assignment; this time to Osan, Korea.

At Osan, I worked in the 51st Component Repair Squadron. I was the Inertial/Doppler Shop Chief, and also responsible for the repair of 32 F4E's.
In 1978, I once again returned to Keesler AFB and was assigned to the 3380th Avionics Maintenance Squadron. I was the Inertial Nav/Doppler Shop Chief until I retired in 1980.
